Engineering (Graduate)

The Engineering Building (South Building) on Uzumasa Campus was constructed to coincide with the establishment of our new Faculty of Engineering in 2020. The Engineering Building is five stories tall and one story underground, and neighbors International Student Dormitory A. The many state-of-the-art facilities function as a training space for our engineers to collaborate across a spectrum of research areas, backgrounds and cultures.

Halls (1F)

The Engineering Building has two large halls. They are used for research presentations, lectures, large-scale lectures and other events.

  • Sagano Hall

  • Advanced Hall

Science Plaza (1F)

In the Science Plaza, students work primarily with 3D printers. There are state-of-the-art printers that can produce minute objects thinner than a single strand of hair.

Machine Workshop (1F/BF)

A workshop with a variety of machine tools and equipment. Undergraduate students learn how to operate all the machinery upon entering their third semester.

Teaching Laboratories (2F)

This space is used for classes where students create items such as robots, cars, electronic circuits, etc.

Learning Commons (2F/3F)

This is a communal space where students can freely study and do group work. The movable furniture and layout are designed to stimulate creativity.

Electronic Workshop (4F)

A complete line of equipment for building and testing electronic circuit boards. It is also used for research in electronics.

Library (4F/5F)

The library has a large collection of books related to engineering. There is also space for students to engage in discussions and idea exchange sessions.

Research Laboratories (4F/5F)

Professors with different areas of expertise have their own laboratories for research. Each graduate student belongs to one of the laboratories and conducts their research under the guidance of their assigned professors.

Others

Other facilities include a prayer room, an open-air terrace, and an International Office to ensure a comfortable student life for the numerous international students.
