Access from Airports

To reach KUAS from each airport, you must first arrive at Kyoto Station. This page provides the route from the airport to Kyoto Station. To get to each campus from Kyoto Station, please refer to the Location of Uzumasa Campus and Location of Kameoka Campus pages.

KUAS does not provide transportation services from the airport to the campuses.
Shuttle and rideshare applications such as NearMe are available to assist students with travel between the airport and their accommodations. Please note that this rideshare service is limited to Kansai International Airport and Itami International Airport arrivals. Students who will arrive in Tokyo or regions outside of the Kansai Region can get to KUAS by public transportation such as trains, bullet trains, and highway buses.

From Kansai International Airport (KIX)

By airport bus: Take the Kansai Airport Limousine Bus bound for Kyoto Station. You can find them and purchase boarding passes at the airport entrance. It takes approximately 90 minutes, and the fare is 2,600 JPY (as of 2023).
By train: Take the JR Kansai Limited Express bound for Kyoto from Kansai-airport Station. The airport and the station are connected. It takes approximately 80 minutes, and the fare is 3,110 JPY (as of 2023).

From Itami Airport (ITM)

By airport bus: Take the Itami Airport Limousine Bus bound for Kyoto Station. You can find them and purchase boarding passes at the airport entrance. It takes approximately 50 minutes, and the fare is 1,340 JPY (as of 2023).
By train: Take the Osaka Monorail from Osaka Airport Station to Senri-Chuo Station, then take the Kita-Osaka Line to Shin-Osaka Station. Take the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen or JR Kansai Limited Express to Kyoto Station. It takes approximately one hour, and the total fare is between 1,250 JPY and 2,120 JPY (as of 2023).

From Narita International Airport (NRT)

Take the Narita Express bound for Shinjuku from Narita Airport Terminal 2-3 Station. Get off at Shinagawa Station and then take the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen heading for Shin-Osaka and get off at Kyoto Station. It takes approximately four hours, and the total fare is 15,950 JPY (as of 2023).

From Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO)

Take the Meitetsu Limited Express bound for Meitetsu-Gifu. Get off at Meitetsu Nagoya Station and then walk to JR Nagoya Station. Take the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen heading for Shin-Osaka and get off at Kyoto station. It takes approximately two hours, and the total fare is 6,060 JPY (as of 2023).
