How to Apply (Graduate)

Applicants MUST fulfill both the Academic Entry Requirements and the English Language Requirements. Furthermore, obtaining approval from their prospective supervisor(s) through pre-application review process is required.

Academic Entry Requirements

Master’s Program

The primary entry requirements suppose that every applicant has completed the equivalent of 16 years of education, including graduating from a university program.

Doctoral Program

For the doctoral program, every applicant must have graduated from both an undergraduate and graduate (master’s level) program.

For more details, please read the Application Guidelines before applying.

English Language Requirements

Applicants must meet the minimum score to ensure their level of English proficiency. To confirm which tests KUAS accepts and the applicable minimum scores, please check our Required Documents page.
Applicants can be exempt from having to show their English proficiency if they meet the following requirements.

English language requirement exemptions

  • Applicants who hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from a university in the following countries by the time of their enrollment in KUAS:
U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland, the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales), or Canada (excluding Quebec)
  • Applicants who earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from an English-language program at a university in a country other than the above-mentioned countries

Applying for an English waiver

Applicants who wish to apply for an English proficiency waiver must request it on their TAO application. In addition, the applicant must upload an English ability evaluation letter from one of their teachers to their application. For more details on applying for an English proficiency waiver, please see the Application Guidelines.

Pre-application Review

All graduate school applicants must go through pre-application review via the KUAS online application system before applying. If you have multiple research interests, it is possible to select more than one supervisor (only applicable to the Master’s Program). However, be aware that you must write a separate research plan for each proposal, and that you have to settle on one supervisor and research topic eventually.
For further details about the faculty members, you can find information in the Faculty & Research or by checking the Faculty List.
