Bioenvironmental Building

The 11-story Bioenvironmental Building has everything needed for indoor learning, including a library, lecture rooms, and laboratories. There are various analytical instruments, research facilities for an array of fields, and three laboratories that can accommodate up to 120 students for classroom exercises.

Food Development Center

The Food Development Center is fully equipped for studying food preparation, processing and fermentation techniques. Students participate in activities such as making buckwheat noodles from scratch and pickling radishes. There is also equipment for brewing wine and beer.

Training Plots

The fields on campus are used for raising a variety of crops, including rice, buckwheat, potatoes, and radishes. Students have a hand in the entire process, from sowing seeds to harvesting. Plankton that appear in the rice paddies are also a subject of study. There is also a greenhouse for developing new seedlings.

Exercise Forest

The forest that stretches from the back of Kameoka Campus to the mountainside is used for Bioenvironmental Sciences field studies. The forest is rich in ecosystems, and students can conduct close investigations on the natural environment. The forest is inhabited by not only plants and insects but also deer and rodents.
